in-Step actiF Edition

You've decided on an agile approach for your projects, because you want to be able to react quickly and flexibly when requirements change.

in-Step actiF Edition offers you everything you need for planning and implementing agile (that is iterative, requirements-driven) projects for software development and maintenance.

The integrated agile process actiF is a simple, adaptable pattern for the project run. It contains file templates for all results – from Use Case to the Build Script.

The success of an agile project is determined in three areas: agile project management, requirements management and continued software integration.

That's why in in-Step actiF Edition, you'll find functions for:

  • simple, requirements based release and iteration planning,
  • the form-based creation, versioning, assignment and acceptance of requirements,
  • tracing requirements throughout the development process,
  • the highly automated build – integration – acceptance cycle.

Release and Iteration Planning – Making the Planning Scope Transparent

Requirements are the planning units for agile project management. If they change, the iteration planning must be checked. With in-Step actiF Edition, this is really easy: it shows all planned requirements, as well as those which have not been incorporated in the planning yet. You can view priorities and the current editing state on-screen. So you can see what action needs to be taken and what your planning scope is. You can shift requirements between iterations, re-set them, re-evaluate them or change their user assignment. Evaluating the development states of requirements also delivers a precise picture of the current project stage, at all times.

Automatic Build – for Short Release Cycles and High Quality

In order to integrate an implemented requirement into the entire system as quickly as possible, in-Step actiF Edition supports the integration of development results with daily builds. Because, the more often integration is carried out, the less effort is required. And, even more importantly: the effort is calculable. All unit tests and automatic acceptance tests are carried out during every build – for maximum quality.
