in-Step CoreProcess Edition …

… is much more than classic project management software. It supports all core processes which are a part of software and system development in projects: including multi project management, requirements management, change management, configuration management, risk management, quality management and process management. And all this according to your own rules.

Welcome to in-Step CoreProcess Edition

Do you want to improve your system or software development with a standard process, starting with your very next project? Do you want to make project planning transparent, but you don't want to have to introduce external process standards to achieve this? And do you want to reach higher process maturity according to CMMI or SPICE, based on your own standards and best practices?

Then in-Step CoreProcess Edition is the right tool for you. in-Step CoreProcess Edition supports you with integrated functions, according to your process concept. These include:

  • project planning,
  • automatic updates of schedule, cost, workload and resource planning,
  • requirements and change management,
  • task planning for project users,
  • versioning of project results with an automatically updated project history,
  • quality assurance and result acceptance

Project Planning – a quick and easy start in the project

Project planning starts with the structuring of a project – e.g. into phases, iterations, activities and mile stones. in-Step CoreProcess Edition suggests typical project activities, and offers templates for the corresponding results. Activities and templates can be easily adapted to your workflow, terminology and documents, in other words, to your standards. The tool creates a project plan parallel to the project structure. It is automatically updated throughout the project.

Requirements – the key to successful project management

in-Step CoreProcess Edition integrates requirements and project management. Requirements creation is formula based and can be refined and hierarchically structured. Requirements yet to be realized form the basis of team planning. They flow into the project plan as tasks for project users, and are visible in the project plan. In addition, each user finds their tasks in a personal ToDo list, and has immediate access to the results which need to be implemented in order to carry out the tasks.

Version Management – working securely in a team

All project results are stored and versioned in the in-Step CoreProcess Edition integrated project library. An up-to-date product history is automatically available. By drawing baselines, you can establish configurations which represent a standard development stage of results. This means greater security and transparency in every project step.

Quality – planning and achieving

Reviews belong to best practices in development projects. With in-Step CoreProcess Edition all results can be assigned to a user for review. The tester then finds the relevant jobs in their ToDo list. At the end of a review, the test results are collected and a state is assigned. If the state is 'not accepted' then a subsequent improvement is triggered. In this way, simple tool mechanisms ensure project quality.
