You can enter a priority, estimated effort and business value for each story, directly in an individually configurable product backlog list. And there's an archive for the entire product backlog, which is automatically updated.

Sprints and Releases – Fast, “Live” Planning

in-Step Scrum Edition makes schedule planning for sprints and releases easy. Sprints are shown in a diagram as bars of equal length along the time axis. After creating the first sprint, this occurs automatically for all following sprints, if you so wish. You enter a release as a milestone in the bar chart. And, you can graphically edit the schedule at any time.

Planning is an intensely communicative process in projects. With in-Step Scrum Edition, you can record everything decided in a planning meeting, clearly structured, traceable, and most importantly, “live”. For example, the decision as to which stories should be realized in which release. in-Step takes on the following assignment for all stories which are prioritized: For each release, you enter the minimum priority a story must have in order to be planned for that release. Stories are automatically assigned to releases, according to this lowest priority boundary.

And it's that easy to bring together stories from the product backlog for a sprint: Select one or more stories in the product backlog, select a sprint for them from a list - you're done!

Sprint Backlog, Task Board, Burndown and Velocity Charts – Clear and Easy to Maintain

In in-Step Scrum Edition, tasks are derived for the team users from every story in a sprint. Tasks, like stories, have a uniform structure and are automatically versioned. The relationship between story and task is always traceable. New tasks appear immediately in the sprint backlog, an editable list which contains, amongst other things, the current state and remaining effort for each task.

At the same time, new tasks are automatically “pinned” to the task board, the teams central work tool. The task board is designed to look like a large pin board with note cards. It is divided into columns, which represent the states tasks must pass through before they can be completed. Tasks can be directly edited on the task board and dragged and dropped from one column to the next.

What stage is the project at? You're always in a position to answer this question – using the up-to-date burndown charts for the running sprint or current release. in-Step Scrum Edition provides you with a line or bar chart showing remaining effort, actual effort and a prognosis for the remaining run. You choose what information is displayed. And for the most accurate effort estimation, you can also access the velocity chart at any time.
