Application life cycle management software objectiF RPM is launched in version 4.3

Berlin-based microTOOL GmbH has launched version 4.3 of objectiF RPM, a software solution for application life cycle management. The current release offers a new rights-management which gives individual members of the project staff specific suitable access rights and views. Additionally to the already existing import from MS Excel, ReqIF and Jira, requirements can now also be imported from MS Word. Test cases can now be sliced up in test steps and derived in backlog views. It is now possible to create relationships between stakeholders in stakeholder diagrams. From now on reviews can be created and carried out for packages, directories and files. And also the web client offers new functions for improved usability.

The new rights-management in objectiF RPM 4.3 makes teamwork even more effective. It is now possible to define read-only, editing and deleting rights for projects, packages, directories, queries and views. Project managers can now allocate project staff from one group to another with drag and drop, they can filter according to project employees, they can set basic availabilities, deactivate staff or only ever assign them when they are available.

The new version offers maintaining traceability of all changes to code level. Files and directories can now be directly opened in Visual Studio Code via the context menu. Code referring to the implementation of a certain requirement at an earlier stage of the development process can thus be archived and traced.

The task manager in objectiF RPM lets the server take care of permanent or recurring tasks in the background, such as: check dates for maturities, reschedule project, calculate performance indicators, create revision, calculate cumulative flow diagram, generate document, fetch e-mails, update activity reference and, as of now: send event to element. By selecting this task users can send a timed event to an element, e.g. a notification in case of any delay in activities. This saves time because the project control analysis can be generated automatically and by default.

objectiF RPM defines a unified structure for the life span of a software development or a system creation. This structure consists of artifacts, workflows, work packages and milestones. Users can can configure and expand their own workflows and artifacts according to their needs. The software is highly scalable. objectiF RPM offers a means to plan and control the  entire application life cycle – from the needs of stakeholders, to recording and defining requirements, to the solution design with UML and SysML diagrams, planning and execution of development, right up to the tests and service.
