in-STEP BLUE in action: Research project SFB/Transregio 29

The research project SFB/Transregio 29 focuses on the complex issue of Industrial Product Service Systems. To realize all requirements that emerge in the course of this research project, in-STEP BLUE was brought into operation. Because of its complexity, the development of Industrial Product Service Systems would not be possible without a tool that is customizable for the specifics of these systems. Operationalization of the development process is handled by in-STEP BLUE. Our goal is to make the process model developed for this development process available and usable in a software solution. A number of factors turn this task into a challenge:

  • Coordination of joint development processes with a complex network consisting of a number of different actors
  • Reduction of complexity in development
  • Support for project planning and project definition
  • Coordination of task execution
  • Provision of templates for customer-specific requirements gathering

Project Management with in-STEP BLUE: Integrated Development of Products and Services

  • Adjusting the process modules (based on V-Modell XT Standard)
  • Customizing the in-STEP BLUE user interface
  • Defining form for requirements requirements management
  • Providing import functionality for process templates specific to Integrated Development of Products and Services
  • Implementing interfaces for document exchange with Microsoft Office
