Export custom properties into MS Project
Many in-STEP BLUE users use the practical possibility to export a project plan into a MS Project file. The feature is especially used to inform project contributors that don’t have access to in-STEP BLUE about the current planning. Beforehand, in-STEP BLUE always exported the plan into an empty MS Project file. Now you can also use customized templates for exporting and export the custom properties of your project activities.
Template for the MS Project export
For the export of custom defined properties from in-STEP BLUE to an MS Project file, a template for the MS Project file is required. Start off by designing a template for the export in MS Project so that the custom properties can be taken over when exported. For this, just add a new column and give it the same name as your custom properties in in-STEP BLUE.

Add a column to MS Project file – in the example, “Beschreibung”
After you have adapted your template, create your MS Project file in the template folder of your in-STEP BLUE projects.

Include the MS Project file as a template
Now you can select the tab Templates in the configuration of the MS Project export and choose the template.

Select the desired template
Place a check in the box next to “Export further properties of the activities”.

Export further properties
When you start the export, the Description with the will be exported into the MS Project file in the position where you created the template.
