Requirements Engineering is the first and decisive step in a project. The goal is to define and trace high quality requirements. But where do we begin?
In this three-day course you will learn the basics of requirements engineering. The course follows the curriculum for the Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) – Foundation Level – certificate of the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB e.V.). You will learn the necessary basic skills of a requirements engineer and gain a thorough understanding of the requirements engineering process. After completing the seminar, you will be able to apply the basic requirements engineering techniques in the four areas of elicitation, documentation, testing & reconciliation and managing requirements.

Hubert Siegemund is CPRE Advanced Level, a Certified Agile Requirements Specialist, a SAFe® 5 Agilist (SA), and V-Modell XT Pro certified. He has over 25 years of experience supporting microTOOL’s clients in the successful implementation of their projects as a requirements analyst. He also shares his knowledge as a trainer in webinars, seminars, and in-house training sessions.

Nils Janßen has been a CPRE trainer since 2018 and is certified as a CPRE AI4RE, Requirements Elicitation Practitioner, and Requirements Management Practitioner. He is also certified in IPMA Level D, TOGAF 9, CPSA Foundation Level, and ITIL® 4 Foundation. As a consultant and requirements engineer, he helps companies successfully implement complex software and IT projects.

Methodology of the IREB training
The CPRE (FL) training takes place as a virtual live seminar with PowerPoint, whiteboard and flipchart demonstrations. You have the possibility to ask questions at any time. The exercises are based on a continuous example of an RE tool. Quiz parts from the official IREB practice exam consolidate knowledge at the end of each learning unit.

How Does the Live Online Seminar Work?
The seminar is conducted live online with an instructor in real time. You can conveniently participate from your office or home office. The content is delivered through presentations as well as additional explanations using a whiteboard and flipchart. Practical exercises are based on a continuous case study and sample questions from the IREB CPRE practice exam. Throughout the seminar, you can ask questions and interact with the trainers and other participants.
Which Platform Is Used for the Seminar?
The seminar is hosted on Microsoft Teams. You do not need your own Microsoft Teams account to participate.
What Technical Requirements Do I Need to Participate?
To participate interactively in the seminar, you only need a computer or laptop with a stable internet connection and speakers or a headset. As we place a strong emphasis on interaction during the seminar, a functioning webcam is recommended.
Is the Certification Exam Included in the Seminar?
You can book the seminar either with or without the exam (fee: €315 plus VAT). If you choose the exam option, we will take care of the registration for you. The exam itself is conducted by an official certification provider and is based on the current IREB syllabus.
Do I have to take the exam immediately after the seminar?
No, you can choose your exam date individually.
