Modern project teams benefit from intelligent tools and flexible work environments. Artificial intelligence is now used for everything from scheduling to risk analysis. In previous blog posts, we demonstrated how AI in objectiF RM and RPM identifies inconsistencies in requirements and how generative AI creates new requirements and complete test cases.
With each new version, we expand the scope of generative AI in our tools further. objectiF RPM version 9.5 assists with individual tasks and guides entire project activities.
Building AI into Your Project Framework
We asked ourselves the following question: How can companies ensure that AI is used where it offers the greatest added value?
Our tools allow you to define project templates for a variety of project types. These templates can include the complete project structure, including phases, work packages, and milestones. Additionally, you can configure specific templates for recurring processes and make them available to users. In both cases, you can specify which activities use the configured AI assistants.
This enables companies to centrally determine where AI is used and ensures that best practices are followed. Consequently, new projects can be launched more quickly, and employees can receive targeted support in their daily work.
Moving Beyond Individual Elements to Supporting Entire Activities
objectiF RPM already provides project teams with AI assistants in various areas. The AI features integrated into our tools thus far have one thing in common: they focus on individual elements. For instance, with a single click, AI suggests measures for individual risks.
objectiF RPM 9.5 expands on this approach. AI will support not only individual elements, but also the execution of entire activities within a project. An AI assistant can work with an entire collection of elements, such as all the requirements in a product backlog, and thus analyze significantly broader contexts to generate appropriate results for the entire workflow.
Generating Test Cases for a Fitness Wristband
In this example, we are developing a fitness wristband. For the “Specify Test Cases” activity, the AI assistant receives all requirements and use cases from the product backlog. Based on this information, the AI assistant automatically generates the appropriate test cases. To open the AI assistant, select the “Perform Activity” command from the context menu in the schedule.

At all times, it is clear which information is used as input and which results are generated. The input and output elements of each activity are clearly defined so that the basis of the AI’s operation remains clear.

Then, the responsible employee decides which suggestions to adopt, adjust, or reject. A new feature in objectiF RPM 9.5 is the ability to automate activities as needed. The AI generates results directly within the project, which employees can then review, evaluate, and adjust as needed.
Thus, the AI handles the time-consuming preliminary work while maintaining employee responsibility and control.
Have a Chat with AI
The integrated chat feature enables dialogue between the AI assistant and employees for questions and feedback to improve results. To ensure complete traceability, the chat history is saved in the tool for each employee. This allows you to trace how a result was achieved at any time, even later on.

The AI assistant analyzes the inputs of the activity. In our example, specific test cases will be generated for the fitness tracker’s “Select Sport for Workout” feature. To generate test cases for running and cycling, simply type a prompt into the new chat window. The desired inputs and outputs can always be monitored in the upper section.
Benefits for Project Teams and Companies
The new AI assistants in objectiF RPM 9.5 offer project teams and companies numerous benefits:
- Support for the standardized execution of activities
- Relief from time-consuming routine tasks
- AI suggestions that can be adopted automatically and reviewed and adjusted later
- Traceability through documented chat histories
- Flexible configuration for a wide variety of project processes
- Reusability via project templates and patterns for entire organizations
Conlusion
With its new AI assistants for activities, objectiF RPM continues to expand its existing AI support. Rather than assisting with individual elements, the AI now supports entire project activities.
This benefits both sides. Project teams are relieved of time-consuming routine tasks, allowing them to focus more on technical decisions. At the same time, companies can centrally manage AI usage, define best practices, and make them available organization-wide via templates.
The AI remains an intelligent assistant; the final decision-making authority always rests with the employee.
What Is New in objectiF RPM?
We highly recommend attending the upcoming webinar, “What’s New in objectiF RM and RPM 9.5,” if you’d like to see the new AI assistants in action. There, we’ll demonstrate how to configure AI-supported activities and their resulting applications.
Upgrading from objectiF RM to objectiF RPM
Are you already using objectiF RM? Switching to objectiF RPM is straightforward since both solutions belong to the same product family and are fully compatible. We’d be happy to advise you on your upgrade options.
