Modernization of our Web Client

Some of you will already be well acquainted with the classic objectiF RM and objectiF RPM user interface of our web client. Since we are constantly improving and striving to make it more user-friendly, it was time for a new look.

The continuous development of our tools is crucial to improving the user experience and integrating new functions. In this blog post, we take a look at our new, modern design and highlight the key changes for you.

Improved User Interface and Modern Design

The previous version of the web client had a classic layout that served as a reliable standard for a long time and offered users a familiar structure. Previously, the menu bar was located at the top and the topic bar on the left, while the messenger and other views were opened on the right.

In the new version, we have made navigation even easier for you. You will now find a reduced menu system and a new toolbar with modernized icons. The contemporary layout with a clear design improves user-friendliness and enables intuitive navigation.

Although the previous design was functional, the dominant use of gray tones made it look slightly outdated. Navigation was via a classic drop-down menu for various views such as “Topics”, “Products” and “AI analysis”, which was not intuitive for all users.

New toolbar in the web client

The new arrangement in the toolbar now allows you to work more efficiently. Personal views and settings can be found directly in the top menu. The menu for projects and organizations as well as the topic bar, the guide, the AI analysis etc. can be found in the upper area of the new toolbar, while messenger, help, system settings and logout are located in the lower area of the toolbar.

The new version of the web client has a modern and cleaner user interface. With the more subtle use of colors, we wanted to reduce the visual noise and create a calm overall environment in which you can comfortably perform your tasks.

Optimized Features for your Best User Experience

Usually, the familiar panels such as “Products” or the Messenger opened on the right-hand side. This was not a problem in itself, but it can limit the space available for diagrams and queries. So we wanted to create more space here.

As a result, the “Products” pane has been renamed “Explorer” in the new version and now also opens on the left-hand side in an optimized arrangement. That expands the area for views, queries and diagrams. The voice assistant, full-text search and messenger now also open on the left-hand side so you have enough space for detailed modeling without constant scrolling and zooming.

New positioning on the left-hand side offers more space for a better overview

The presentation of information in the main area has also been modernized to provide a clearer and more concise view. Forms and dialogues now stand out better thanks to a darker background. That optimizes readability and separates the dialogues more clearly from the background.

Conclusion

With the redesign of the web client, we want to meet the current requirements of our users. The redesign not only simplifies navigation, but also increases efficiency when using the web client. At the same time, it offers a contemporary, calm design for a friendly working environment.
